“From swagger to sexy beauty- wht.rbbt.obj does it all, and they do it all so well. What a cool listen that would fit any time of the day and any mood.”

- Langen Goldstein, Girl At The Rock Shows (Feb 14, 2024)

“Across five slinky and scintillating tracks wht.rbbt.obj build bridges to the past, invite long-overlooked sonic neighbors to the party, and lay the foundations for a bright new rock future. Or at least one possible, and preferable, vision of it. Right from the off, the infectious, distorted groove of “Love On Hold” tells us everything we need to know. It is a song built of hooks and space, blues vocals and soul harmonies, abrasive guitars, and unfussy back beats that know how to serve the song. There it is, laid out before you, a rock ‘n’ roll mission statement, sonic manifesto and plan of attack all rolled into one. And attack it does, not through punch and power but through sass and sensuality. Yes, modern rock music may have lost its way, but Whiskey Hotel Tango is the map that could help put things back on course. Assuming, of course, that modern musicians in that realm even know how to read such an elegant and eloquent sonic map. Fingers crossed, eh?”

- Dave Franklin, Dancing About Architecture (Jan 03, 2024)

“The music on this EP sizzles. It’s edgy, has attitude and often contains performances that resonate with a technical and creative spark . . . the band isn’t trying to push these songs into experimentation but rather harness the energy, spirit and vitality that made rock such an electric experience . . . The vocals are what truly gripped me—not just expansive in range, but brimming with a myriad of emotions . . . echoing influences from bands like Led Zeppelin and Yes. It commands attention, inviting head-nodding from the get-go. What sets it apart are its unpredictable transitions—especially the lightning-fast lead—that catch you off guard in the best way . . . Whiskey Hotel Tango stands out as a powerful EP that has a lot of replayability. It skillfully captures the essence of a live performance, delivering an experience that feels vibrant and authentic.”

- Zachary Rush, Indie Music Reviews (Dec 13, 2023)

“The rock solid drumming is there, as you might expect, and the riffs have been lined in metal to keep these five songs close to the ground where they can do the most damage. So far so good, I hear you say, and this band’s muscular credentials are never in doubt but what might make this band more than another reinvention of rock’s seventies heyday. Well, that something might well be the way in which all that is no doubt wearing black leather gains a soulful, almost ethereal, quality thanks to the voice of River Rabbitte who weaves a spell that evokes the memory of Grace Slick as much as she does Joss Stone. It’s a sincerity thing and that’s the thing you really want to hear. “Whiskey Hotel Tango” has more style than you might reasonably expect of a rock band and, while wht.rbbt.obj clearly know what the people like to hear, they have stamped their own personality on this EP and that makes them more than worthy of your attention.”

- Bluesbunny, Bluesbunny (Dec 08, 2023)

“. . . the Chicago-based band is fierce, crunchy and energetic, offering a slice of unfiltered rock matter. Behind their hostile, complex and obscure name, lays a way more approachable and hard-hitting musical universe, one that we are confident will connect with a large audience out there.”

- Gabriel Mazza, Mesmerized (Nov 29, 2023)

“Welcome to the seductive world of Chicago based, alternative rock band wht.rbbt.obj (also known as “White Rabbit Object”). Their latest single release, “Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave)” takes us on a contemplative excursion into their mysterious universe. River Toussaint Rabbitte’s passionate vocals combine with hearty piano chords to draw listeners into a journey of introspection that gradually builds into a laid-back bluesy rock groove, full of twists and turns and sonic delights.”

- Karen Harding, Couch Mag (Nov 25, 2023)

“Whiskey Hotel Tango . . . positively smolders with late-night indie-blues cool. . . The EP begins with the epic ‘Love On Hold’ which sounds like the dirty blues soul sister of Amy Winehouse and The Commitments. ‘No Rainbows In Indiana’ . . . simmers and stews with its dizzying whirl of guitars and smokey vocals. It’s a stunning track that stays in your head and deserves it’s place on your next playlist. The final track ‘Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave)’ takes it down a notch. This is a late-night ode to love, replete with atmospheric Hammond organ, piano and those to-die-for vocals. It’s just gorgeous. When River exclaims she’s fallin’ for you, you really want it to be about you. wht.rbbt.obj will raise the hairs on your neck with their darkly, seductive blues rock.”

- Right Chord Muisc (Nov 24, 2023)

“Mixing a sultry groove and heavy stomp, wht.rbbt.obj's 'No Rainbows In Indiana' might remind some listeners of 'Elephant' era White Stripes at first, but given room to grow, this single ultimately makes a sound that's so much bigger and even more retro. The lead guitar work lays down a massively confident wave of furious blues rock worthy of old Taste and Groundhogs records; the sultry vocal cries with intent, bringing a classic sound to the varied musical landscape of 20223, and the interplay between the two is superb . . . River Rabbitte's voice has enough power to carry everything - and then some - and with some top notch guitar work throughout, this track has more sass and heart than most blues rock acts will ever capture in the studio environment.”

- Real Gone Rocks (Nov 16, 2023)

“What struck me most was the profound emotional depth embedded in their music, a testament to the remarkable vocal prowess of River Rabbitte. Each track serves as a showcase for the versatility of her vocals, effortlessly transitioning between soulful, jazzy tones to the raw power reminiscent of a rock goddess.”

- Garth Thomas, Hollywood Digest (Nov 13, 2023)

“In their latest release, “Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave),” wht.rbbt.obj delivers an enthralling blend of blues and alternative/indie pop that transcends conventional musical boundaries. The track explores the complexities of yearning, romantic entanglement, and the longing for intimacy. The sultry and raw vocals of River Toussaint Rabbitte paired with the evocative sounds of the Hammond B-3 create a sonic atmosphere dripping with lustful fervor. “Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave)” is a revelation, a brooding masterpiece that explores the intimate affairs of the heart. The marriage of bluesy, smoky tones and the magnetic presence of wht.rbbt.obj transforms this track into a musical seduction.”

- Purple Melon (Nov 14, 2023)

“wht.rbbt.obj asserts their authenticity and artistry with a raw, immediate delivery that captures the essence of great songwriting. Whiskey Hotel Tango is a testament to their talent, earning two resounding thumbs up for their unapologetic approach and musical prowess. This release signifies the band's genuine contribution to the contemporary music scene, cementing their place as a noteworthy and compelling act to watch.”

- Anne Hollister, The Indie Source (Nov 11, 2023)

“There’s so much talent and great performing chops here that it’s really an embarrassment of riches, even for an EP. And there’s more coming! Check these guys out and you won’t be disappointed!”

- Dino DiMuro, Pitch Perfect (Nov 10, 2023)

“wht.rbbt.obj, a Chicago-based duo comprised of a husband and wife, embodies the spirit of rock bands like Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes and The Black Keys in their latest EP, Whiskey Hotel Tango. . . . wht.rbbt.obj emerges as the real deal, demonstrating an impressive level of musicianship. The band's delivery is on point, and their vocalist stands out as one of the most exceptional talents in recent memory.”

- RAGMAG (Nov 10, 2023)

“Within the realm of rock, a trifecta of danger, intrigue and unwavering attitude has always been the lifeblood of the genre. In today's musical landscape, those essential qualities are often in short supply, but my discovery of Whiskey Hotel Tango by wht.rbbt.obj, a dynamic husband-and-wife duo hailing from the heart of Chicago, rekindles the spirit with passion.”

- Buzzslayers (Nov 09, 2023)

“[Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave)] blends the smoky melancholy of artists like Amy Winehouse, Duffy, and Florence Welsh with the instrumental intricacies of Carlos Santana and Jeff Beck. . . its appeal is almost entirely contained in River Rabbitte’s evocative delivery. Setting the rhythm with soft strums and lone cymbals, the soundscape is minimalistically designed to let her roam and claim the emotional spaces that the narrative needs. And running between these verses are molten blues guitar work. Mellow and intimate, they enhance the theme with lavish velvet and potent spreads. And in alternating between these two brands of blues, the band delivers a novel composition that is both classic and contemporary.”

- Bowe, Good Music Radar (Nov 09, 2023)

“There’s a crunchy bass guitar…A dirty and infectious guitar riff…And some seriously powerful and sonorous vocals courtesy of River Rabbitte. It’s just pure rock ‘n’ roll perfection in all honesty! Thematically, a lot is going on as well. With lyrical nods to Chicago evoking feelings of displacement and a yearning for home, to poetic verses exploring heartbreak, loss, and melancholy, ‘No Rainbows In Indiana’ is deeply complex. It’s emotionally intricate too. But above all, it’s profoundly honest.”

- Jeremy Bregman, Mesmerized (Nov 08, 2023)

“No Rainbows In Indiana is their latest offering and is a slinky, slithering, gritty Blues based slow rocker with Frank Rabbitte’s bass holding the whole thing together. Mesmerizing guitar backs a dark and grinding vocal, and when River Rabbitte lets loose on that vocal she hits those notes so sweetly.”

- Blue David, Blues Blues (Nov 04, 2023)

“Bluesy and sultry, the star of [Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave)] is surely the lead vocal—a smoky and intoxicating female voice that combines the vowel shapes of Amy Winehouse, husk of Ellie Goulding and punk rock of Fiona Apple. The song as a whole reminds us of that era in the 00s/10s where Norah Jones and Duffy hit the charts—that “new retro” kinda feel. We also loved the little touches of the verbed organ, which was just pure earcandy. It’s a timeless record destined for your smooth grooves/chill vibes playlist.”

- Necessary Outlet (Nov 04, 2023)

“With a sultry, distorted guitar tone and blues-infused piano and organ arrangement, you're transported to a late-night speakeasy; catching eyes across the room, sipping a martini, with the element of mystery lingering over the candle-lit bar. Adding to the timeless instrumentation of [Keep You Like A Secret (Tidal Wave)] is the retro tone of River Toussaint Rabbitte’s vocals, reminiscent to that of Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith and old school blues favourites, taking you through the desire of intimacy and emotions of a longing love. Ebbing and flowing from whispering intimacy to powerful soul, this track is a true testament to the vocal ability of River . . . Oozing 'femme fatale', this new release of wht.rbbt.obj's is the start of a future EP set for release later this month, exploring the band's extensive musical abilities and refusal to limit themselves to a particular genre.”

- Meg Shaw, Local and Live Media (Nov 03, 2023)

"No Rainbows in Indiana" has a dirty blues sound with just a smidge of pop. And when I say a smidge, I mean just barely. wht.rbbt.obj have this dark sound to their music that sounds as if The White Stripes were covering Alice in Chains. Plus, the song adds in what is kind of a guitar solo (I'm only calling it that because I don't really know how else to describe this bridge) that is one of the most unique bursts of noise I've heard in a long, long time. When the actual guitar solo hits... it's just perfection. Blues rock is a well trod genre, so it's always great to find an artist putting their own spin on it.

- Ken Sears, If It's Too Loud (Oct 25, 2023)

“[Love On Hold] is packed full of immersive and engrossing moments, from the smoky rawness of the vocals to the driving, garage rock guitars that bring them to life in such a sexy, illuminating fashion. There is an atmospheric charm to the sound that feels infectious and impossible to resist throughout, borrowing from genres like alternative rock, Motown, blues, garage rock to create a groove-laden, all-encompassing sound that dominates the space that it is in and captivates listeners through its charismatic charm and the sheer aura that it projects.”

- James Van Osdol, Car Con Carne (Apr 05, 2023)

“Their music has always been bluesy, smoky, sexy and raw. This one, their latest . . . is like last call in a laundry list of bad decisions . . . The first time I heard (it), I thought, Oh My God, I am hearing something special. That's the new one from wht.rbbt.obj, "Once More Down The Rabbit Hole."”

- James Van Osdol, Car Con Carne (Jan 19, 2023)

“wht.rbbt.obj will blow everything you own out of Earth's orbit . . . we have never been more excited to share something with the world. Does it sound like PJ Harvey on steroids? Is this some long lost relative of Amy Winehouse or some already-famous band who is just f'ing with us . . . ? We don’t know! But . . . "Once More Down The Rabbit Hole" . . . sounds like the big leagues, with its retro and bluesy instrumentation and its dynamically jazzy and soulful vocal work.”

- Up To Hear Music (Oct 03, 2022)

"I think she can give Amy Winehouse a run for her money."

- You Haven't Heard This Music Podcast (Sep 24, 2022)

“The song starts with ambient dirty guitar structures, groovy basslines, romantically pathetic Janis Joplin vocals, and . . . it all grows step by step into an . . . explosion of flying petals, bullets, and curses. ‘Once More Down The Rabbit Hole’ is cruel and unforgivable, but also damn stylish. She seems to beckon you to her, like a mermaid in a delusional dream, to steal with her to the bottom where no one will hear your call for help.”

“The mysterious new garage rock duo Wht.Rbbt.Obj have kicked off 2019 by releasing their first two singles. What we know is that this is a married couple calling themselves Francis & River with other musical identities in the community.
